Crochet Baby Booties Worked Flat
Materials
- DK category #3 yarn
- Scissors
- Tapestry Needle
- Stitch Markers
- “H” hook for chaining and “G” 4.25 or 4.50 mm for rest of crocheting
GAUGE
- 19 stitches = 4” appx.
- G hook 4.25mm and DK yarn gives appx. 4” sole length
- G hook 4.50mm and DK yarn gives appx. 4 ¼” sole length

Pattern Notes
- Ch 1 or Ch 2 at the beginning of the row does not count as a stitch
- The booties are worked flat.
- The booties are worked bottom up
Pattern Instructions
Ch 26 [using “H” hook beginning at toe area] Then, change to “G” 4.25mm hook or 4.50mm hook
Row 1: 1 Hdc in the 2nd chain from the hook, Mark the stitch with a stitch marker, 1 Sc in each stitch across. 24 stitches
Row 2: Ch 2, 2 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark the very first stitch, 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches, 2 Hdc in each of the next 6 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 8 stitches, 2 Hdc in the last stitch. 32 stitches.
Row 3: Ch 2, 2 Hdc in the 1st stitch, mark the very first stitch, 1 Hdc in the next 30 stitches, 2 Hdc in the last stitch. 34 stitches.
Row 4: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the front loop only of the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the front loops only in each stitch across. 34 stitches.
Row 5: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the next 8 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches, Dc2tog 4 times, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches, 1 Sc in the last 9 stitches. 30 stitches.
Row 6: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the next 8 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches , Dc2tog 2 times, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches, 1 Sc in the last 9 stitches. 28 stitches.
Row 7: Ch 1, 1 Sc in the 1st stitch, mark stitch, 1 Sc in the next 7 stitches, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches , Dc2tog 2 times, 1 Hdc in the next 4 stitches, 1 Sc in the last 8 stitches. 26 stitches.
Row 8: Ch 2, 1 Hdc in 1st stitch , mark stitch, 1 Hdc in all stitches across. 26 stitches.
CUFF:
Row 9: Ch 2, FPDC around the 1st Hdc of previous row, BPDC around the next stitch *FPDC in next stitch, BPDC in next stitch*. Repeat across row. Ending with hdc in top of ch2. [26 stitches + ch2 and dc] —— Note: You can work rows of double crochet instead.
Row 10: Repeat row 9 twice and Fasten Off, Hide Ends.
FINISHING
With right sides facing, sew up seam and weave in ends. Make a chain of 80 (twice) if you wish, to tie around the booties.
Slip stitch around sole using the free loops. Can use a contrast color, if desired. You can make this same color as bootie and make 80 chain tie contrast color instead.
